Creative Pupils bring new dimension
to corporate calendar
Pupils at Ysgol Hen Felin are set to have their artwork published
in the 2006 calendar which is being produced by Tonypandy
company HSW Print.

The school, which has a long partnership with the printing
company, was approached to help reinvigorate the calendar
that the company produces for its clients.
Darran Thomas, Sales and Marketing Manager at the company
said, “As printers it is a tradition for us to develop
a calendar for our clients each year however this year we
decided to feature some different images to those which usually
appear.
“We have had links with Ysgol Hen Felin, because we
have produced their Christmas card for a number of years,
so we approached the art teacher there to ask the children
to paint a number of pictures for the calendar. The results
are amazing and we are delighted to have such a fresh looking
calendar to send to our clients this year.”
The calendar features 12 images which are relevant to the
seasons, including a heart theme for February, fruits of the
soil to depict August and a traditional Christmas Nativity
scene for December.
Ysgol Hen Felin is one of four special schools in the County
Borough Of Rhondda Cynon Taff. It caters for children with
moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Clare Evans-Lees, art teacher at Ysgol Hen Felin, said, “All
122 pupils got involved doing paintings for the calendar and
they really enjoyed it. We were very pleased to get the chance
to contribute and are delighted that some of the pupil’s
work will published.”
