Gentle Giant Trust brings exhibition
to pupils of Porth
Pupils from Porth County Community School are to get the unique
opportunity to attend a writing workshop celebrating the life
of Welsh football legend, John Charles.
The workshop forms part of a whole exhibition which has been
developed to commemorate the life and legacy of John Charles,
also known as the Gentle Giant because of his incredible sense
of fair play both on and off the pitch.
The exhibition is being sponsored by HSW print and in recognition
of this a special workshop is being held at the company. HSW
Print prepared all the posters, the full colour book about
John Charles’ life and leaflets which are given to all
who visit the exhibition.
Director at the company, Malcolm Hackman said, “We
were approached to get involved with the Gentle Giant Trust
and have been delighted to help with the exhibition because
it is very worthwhile.
“By having a mini gentle giant workshop here in our
offices we feel that some of the young people in this area
are likely to benefit as well.”
Phil Cope, exhibition organiser and friend of John Charles
will be leading the workshop with esteemed Welsh writer, Lloyd
Robson.
